![]() This level features a lot of mushrooms, and introduces Spin Blocks. This level takes place high above the sky. This level is the first to have a secret exit, which will unlock a route to a red Toad House and World 1. The level also introduces Piranha Plants. It is heavily inspired by World 1-2 from Super Mario Bros. This level takes place in an underground cave. This level introduces power-ups such as the Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, Starman, and the Mega Mushroom. It takes place in a grassy area beside Peach's castle, with Goombas and Koopa Troopas. This level introduces the players to the game. World 1 is also surrounded by bright blue water, which also connects to World 1-A. Peach's castle can be seen in the background right before World 1-1. Behind the tower, many rocky cliffs can be seen with dark green grass on them. There are also some brick blocks lying around the map. It takes a grassy plain filled with bushes, mushrooms, fences, and flowers. Going into the small pipe will take Mario to the red-flag exit, which opens a path leading through the Green Toad House, all the way to the castle.The appearance of World 1 is very simple. The player needs to hop on a Flying ? Block, then around a pillar to reach a small pipe. The red-flag exit requires Mario to be in his Mini form. Star Coin 3 - The third Star Coin is at the very top-left of the level, followed by a path of coins that lead to the Red Coin Ring. ![]() Star Coin 2 - The second Star Coin is on a wider mushroom platform to the upper-left of the first one.Star Coin 1 - The first Star Coin is on top of the rightmost mushroom platform at the beginning of the level.There is also a hidden area with more Spin Blocks and a P Switch, giving the player many coins. The final one is within a trail of coins near the end. ![]() The first two Star Coins are above mushrooms. There is only one enemy in the whole level, a red Koopa Troopa. It is similar to levels such as World 1-3, but it is a completely vertical level. This is a very short level, and it consists of many mushrooms and Spin Blocks. ![]()
